AD Travelling Tutor ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who uses this website — including parents, students, and tutors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Who we are

2. What information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Parent/guardian details: name, phone number, email address, and login credentials if you create a portal account.
• Student details: name, grade, curriculum (CAPS/IEB/Cambridge), and progress notes from tutoring sessions.
• Booking details: subject, session type, preferred dates/times, and any notes you choose to add.
• Tutor details: name and login credentials, for tutors we employ or contract.
• Basic website usage: which pages are visited, for our own analytics — we do not use tracking cookies or sell this data.

We only collect what's needed to arrange and manage tutoring sessions. We do not collect payment card details through this website — payments are arranged directly with you via WhatsApp, EFT, or in person.

3. Why we collect it

• To respond to and manage booking requests
• To run the parent, tutor, and admin portals (tracking sessions, progress, and booklet requests)
• To contact you about a booking or account
• To improve the site based on which pages are used most

4. Children's information

Because we tutor school-age children, we necessarily hold information about students provided to us by their parent or guardian. We treat this information with the same care as any personal information under POPIA, and it is only used for arranging and delivering tutoring services — never for marketing to children directly or shared with third parties for unrelated purposes.

5. Where your information is stored

Website data (bookings, portal accounts, progress notes) is stored using Supabase, a secure database provider. Access to parent and student records in the admin and tutor portals is restricted — parents can only see their own children's information, and tutors can only see students they are assigned to.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited information with:

• Tutors assigned to a specific student, for the purpose of delivering lessons
• Service providers that help run this website (e.g. our hosting and database providers), only as needed to operate the site
• Authorities, if required by law

7. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you or your child
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or record-keeping requirements
• Withdraw consent for us to contact you

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access, including restricted database access rules so that accounts can only see the information relevant to them.
